On Monday I had the privilege of co-ordinating Sunderland’s first Community Barcamp.  It was a chance for the community to join with techies to discuss how to use technology to help communities.

Police find no knives in Shiney

Despite stopping folks over a 6 hour period, Northumbria Police failed to find anyone carrying a knife in Shiney Row.  An exercise in Mid August, involving new ’stop and search’ powers and portable metal detectors failed to find anyone carrying a knife.
